As you work through the completion of this novel and the unit, you will need to think deeper and broader than you may have before for other novels. This novel is supposed to challenge your ideas and help you to develop your own ideas regarding government and the individuals' place within it. Enjoy!

Why is that type most effective? What does an effective government mean to you? What would happen if there was no government? Can governments be harmful? How or why? Provide specific examples from your research and from the novel and elaborate on the ramifications (outcomes) of a government that does not have the best interests of its people at heart. You may use sources outside of this unit to answer this question. Be sure to CITE your response. Consider how certain governments might be bad for some people but not others? Who SHOULD benefit from a government system?
